January in a nutshell…

I have been neglecting my newly formed blog lately…so sorry!!  This has been an intense and wonderful month.  In the month of January I:

  • achieved my highest bowling record of all time (164)
  • played a gig
  • dyed my hair pink for a day
  • regressed to the fifth grade
  • rapped in public…whaa??

You’re probably wondering about the rapping, well, I can explain that. In fact, the last three bullets are directly related.  As I am nearing my final lap of my education program, I spend two days a week at an elementary school teaching 5th grade (It’s so fun)!  I couldn’t disappoint my students on crazy hair day, so that’s where the pink hair fits in. Of course, I blame hair dying fiasco on obligation, but I have secretly wanted to dye my hair pink since I was just a lass. :)  Would anyone take me seriously if I had neon coloured hair for more than a day?

The rapping… I can also explain this, haha.  In an attempt to teach the concept of linking verbs to my class, I had them rap some verbs to the tune of Paper Planes by M.I.A.  Maybe the message in the original lyrics is a bit questionable for public school, but I can never tell if these things are inappropriate…I sure hope this one was okay.

This is my last semester of university before I student teach, so school is quite time consuming.  Okay, that was definitely an understatement.  It takes up the majority of my time, but along the way of my educational pursuits, I hope to enjoy my last semester with my lovely friends, play more shows, write more tunes, learn how to teach, and love my life!

~Peace~
